Indian Wills, 1911-1921: Records of the Bureau of Indian Affairs By Jeff Bowen
The problem I find in purchasing Mr. Bowen's work (as of now 7 volumes have been transcribed) is that he offers no view of the index of names so that a purchaser may purchase the volume that may have the information they are seeking.
Second, each volume contains records for the following tribes: "Chippewa, Sioux, Apache, Shawnee, Quapaw, Assinboin, Leach Lake Chippewa, Confederated Flathead, Ponca, Cheyenne, Crow, Sac & Fox, Nez Perce, Southern Ute, Omaha, Osage, and more."
Now this seems like a lot of information to purchase about other tribes which I am not particularly interested in. Perhaps, he could have formulated this information in separate books according to tribe to make it more beneficial for all Indians. Hindsight is 20/20.
So as it is, for the price of $27.50 per volume, you don't know what your getting and are required to buy all 7 volumes to see if your relative/ancestor may or may not be listed.
It would more than likely increase Mr. Bowen's gross sales if he at least offered the index for viewing on Amazon or any other vendor site that is selling his book.
Thumbs down on the purchase of this book.
